How this calculator works
Walls = 2 × (length + width) × height; Ceiling = length × width (if included)
Paintable area = walls + ceiling − openings
Paint (litres) = paintable area × coats ÷ coverage per litre × (1 + wastage ÷ 100)
Assumptions and limits
- Coverage differs between products, surfaces and primer use. Use the coverage stated by the manufacturer for one coat.
- The default coverage of 10 m² per litre is only a placeholder. Replace it with the value on your paint label.
