How this calculator works
Dry volume = wet volume × dry-volume factor
Cement volume = dry volume × cement part ÷ (cement + sand + aggregate parts)
Sand / aggregate volume = dry volume × its part ÷ total parts
Cement bags = cement volume ÷ bag volume, where bag volume = 50 kg ÷ 1440 kg/m³ ≈ 0.0347 m³
Assumptions and limits
- A nominal mix by volume is only an estimating approach. It is not a substitute for an engineered concrete mix design, which must be done by a qualified engineer using tested materials.
- The default dry-volume factor is 1.54 (commonly quoted values are about 1.50 to 1.57). Adjust it if your engineer specifies another value.
- Cement is taken as 1440 kg/m³ in 50 kg bags. Sand and aggregate quantities are loose volumes and ignore moisture bulking.
